Post-electoral troubled waters in Israel

Kadima called for power sharing with Likud, but only with Livni Prime-Minister. The Prime-Minister in office, Ehud Olmert, is trying to save a last minute deal, by releasing Marwan Barghouthi, in exchange with Gilad Shalit. While in Jerusalem, Russian Foreign Minister Serghei Lavrov announced Russia as a possible host of a conference on the Middle East Peace Process, to be organized mid-year. The organization of a similar event, in France, was expressed by the French president Nicolas Sarkozy.
